Gordon had an HND in Human Resource Management and was given 240 SCQF credits towards a BA degree. He's now in a flourishing career.

Gordon had failed to get into university direct from school because his Highers grades weren't good enough, so he went to a further education college to do an HND in Human Resource Management.

"I was really disappointed not to get into university. But I think I must have been a bit of a late developer because once I was at college I really steamed ahead and got excellent grades in all my Units.

"Once I'd gained my HND, my course tutor suggested that I should have "I went straight in at final year which was fantastic - I just couldn't have done another three years' full-time study on top of the two years to get the HND."

After graduating Gordon gained Graduate Membership of the Chartered one more go at getting a degree. He advised that I'd get credits for the HND which would probably take me into a degree programme without having to start from scratch."

Gordon applied to do a BA Degree in Human Resource Management and was given 240 credits at Level 7 and Level 8 for his HND.

He's now working in the Human Resources department of a leading knitwear company and has a clear career path ahead. In the future he'll also be helped by work-based training courses that will be given a Framework credit and level rating.

"And I've kept on studying. I started to learn French last year - our company has a sales force in France and it might be useful to speak a bit of French. If nothing else, I'll be able to order the beers on holiday next year."

 
Is this right?

I want to do a Degree so the Framework's no use to me. It's only for job-related vocational courses?
